Project TWO: LIFE IN FISHEYE

Artfully Captured & Edited

"The Upsidedown Church" @18mm. This fantastic church is in Pyle, Bridgend, and is fascinating because it was built upsidedown when it was moved from a another site to this one they started building it with the stones in reverse order.

"Samuel At The Bandstand". @8mm. My son Samuel showing that a fisheye lens does not always distort things, but can take great photographs!

"The Bridge". @8mm. A stunning small bridge behind Margam Park. There are many places here to be discovered, and depending on the time of year, they can be beautiful!

This project was focused on using an 8mm (rectilinear) Fisheye lens plus now my new 6.5mm circular fisheye lens. Photographs taken with this lens will be distorted, and have a strange feel about them, but when done correctly, they can be a joy to view, an interesting escape from reality!

"St David's Church". @8mm. Neath town centre has some great buildings, and this church stands out as being one of the best buildings on display.

"Town Fair Stalls'. @8mm. Every September Neath has it's town fair, and there are many great stalls bringing a whole new character to the town.

"Howel Gywn & The Clock". @8mm. Taken from Neath Gardens, this photo shows two iconic landscape features of Neath Town Centre.

"The Boats In Porthcawl". @8mm. The small docks at Porthcawl. Capturing the complete harbour in the winter sun.

"Ewenny Priory". @8mm. The ancient 12th Centuary Priory just outside Bridgend host's some spectacular internals, and it's captured best with a fisheye lens!

"Dyffryn Gardens House", @8mm. This stunning property near Cardiff is in the middle of some amazing gardens and is a beautiful place to visit!

"Dyffryn Gardens Outhouse", @8mm. Inside the grounds of Dyffryn Gardens is this little summer house. Beautifully framed and hidden in the corner of the grounds.

"Singleton Botanical Gardens" @6.5mm. This shot shows the extreme angles that the Meike 6.5mm fisheye can take photographs! A lot of the scenery is taken in, far more than even the 8mm Samyang which was used for many years.

"Flowers In Singleton" @6.5mm. These are in the centre of Singleton Park Botanical Gardens and are a beautiful sight to see!

"Singleton Botanical Gardens" @6.5mm. This shot shows the extreme angles that the Meike 6.5mm fisheye can take photographs! This is the same shot that appears on this page in circular, but has been de-fisheyed making it look like a rectilinear lens.

"Porthcawl Lighthouse". @8mm. The lighthouse on the end of the pier in Porthcawl, edited in the style of a painting.

"Castell Coch Courtyard". @8mm. Inside the infamous Castell Coch near Cardiff.

"Botanical Gardens Wales -The Roof". @6.5mm. This photograph is something I'd been waiting to try out for a long time. Its almost like one of those small planet photographs. It's this use that a circular fisheye lens really shines I think, and I will be attempting more like this in the future.

"Botanical Gardens Wales -Path & Rooftop" @6.5mm. I loved the way the roof seems to meld with the path in this one. A great place to take a variety of photographs.

"Botanical Gardens Wales -Sunflowers!" @6.5mm. This image is just showing a great way to capture flowers, in a different way to the usual  close-up's that you see.
