Project Eight: Mobile Phone Waterfall Country

Artfully Captured & UN-Edited

As a project, it's always been on my mind to go out on a shoot with the GPWNPT group and only use a mobile phone. So, with some of the most challenging conditions  available I decided to take my Huawei Mate 10 Pro to Pontneddfechan, Waterfall Country in the Neath valley and shoot exclusively with it. Ideally, with autumn with us, a lot of water and huge contrasts in dynamic range I would have used my Fujifilm X-T20 to capture all this detail. As it turned out, I was quite happy with the results of the shoot. Here are some of the unedited shots from the day. I used a gorillapod and special mobile phone mount to secure the Huawei in place while shooting longer exposures (although only a second or two was ever needed). Would I trade in my camera and only use a mobile phone? Not quite yet! But as a second camera it's perfect!
